Biography – Dave Evans CFP, RICP, AIFA
Dave is a frequent author and speaker in the areas of employee benefits, retirement planning and financial literacy. Prior to co-founding 401kSleuth LLC, Dave was the CEO and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of a national trade association 401(k) Multiple Employer Plan (MEP). Dave started his career with a large national insurance carrier in the areas of advanced underwriting and sales, then joined a national employee benefits consulting firm in NYC before co-founding his own firm in upstate NY. He has authored over 150 articles and is co-author of The Practical Agency Planner and has testified before a Congressional Committee overseeing 401(k) Plan legislation following Enron’s collapse. Dave is regularly quoted and featured in broadcast and print media outlets including CNN, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the Washington Post and has been a guest lecturer at the Washington & Lee University School of Law in the area of employee benefits.

Robert Holt is a sales leader with deep expertise in all facets of the life insurance industry to include life
and annuity sales and marketing, sales and new business operations, and training and development.
Robert is currently the Vice President of Life and Annuity Business Development for the Independent
Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (the “Big I”) and its consumer brand Trusted Choice. In his
current role, Robert leads the sales and marketing strategies and opportunities for Trusted Choice and
evangelizes the power of life insurance and annuities to provide security and peace of mind before and
after retirement. Robert began his insurance career selling term life insurance over the phone for an
online broker before moving on to create and build a high‐performing life and annuity sales team for a
non‐profit life insurance carrier. Robert led the design and launch of a whole life product that sold over
$10,000,000 of premium in the first year. He has been on the forefront of the crusade to bring B2C
marketing ideas and analytics along with CRM and marketing automation technology to the insurance
advising and sales process. Robert thrives in motivating others to be their best; whether its coaching
advisors and insurance professionals or a youth basketball team. Robert holds the Chartered Life
Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL)
designations from the American College of Financial Services. He is a Salesforce.com Certified
Administrator and has completed graduate work at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of
Management.
